i have a 05 Neon we replaced the fuel pump, regulator and filter it runs great if we use starting fluid to start it but wont prime itself. what can i do?????

 

I have a problem! I was driving my car and it was fine then suddenly it won't budge in drive or reverse. I checked the tranny fluid it's low so i put in a qrt. the car will go in drive and reverse then just won't again. the tranny fluid I just put in is all over the ground. a mechanic i know comes by and looks at it he says it's not leaking from the tranny lines its leaking out the back-up for the coolant jug. Now I'm just a girl but even I know that the tranny fluid shouldn't be in the coolant tank and no i didn't put it in there i put it in the same hose the dip stick for the tranny is in.. whats something like that going to A. run me and B.take to fix? thanx in advance

 

Make sure electricity is getting to the fuel pump and the injectors.

 

The transmission fluid flows from the transmission into the radiator (in a seperated compartment inside it) then back to the transmission. This is done to cool the transmission. If your friends is correct then it is possible though rather unlikely that the transmission built up too much pressure in the transmission cooler and it just happened to release into the transmission blowing it into the resevoir tank. I don't know how this would happen but it sounds like you would need a transmission flush and filter along with a new radiator. You should definitely have a professional look into the problem though. I would take it to a transmission specialist first.

ok i have a 04 srt 4, i can get in it start it it will run fine for as along as i go, but as soon as i stop and let it sit for 5 to 10 mins it will not start again, the engine is cranking, i had the battery starter and alternator checked and they all are good. now if i let it sit another 10 or 15 mins after trying it and try again it will start right up and run fine,also if i shut it off and immediately try to start it back up it will start just fine. i replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and cam shaft positiong sensor thus fAR. I have diagnose that when it is not starting it is not getting fuel. but the fuel pump does kick on every time i key on.. any suggestions would be great!! going ona about two weeks now!!!

ok, i have an update now, if, when its not starting i immediately remove the fuel line going to the fuel rail (relieving pressure) then plug it back it, the car will immediately start and run great.. again any ideas will be greatly appreciated... any chance it could be the throttle positioning sensor? or the fuel pump it self?

 

We have a 2000 Neon and the body control module needs to be replaced (along with a lot of other stuff), but I don't know where to find it. I've searched the internet but can't find anything specific to that year. Anyone know?

 

I have a 2003 Dodge neon and it sputters, like a really bad dead miss, when I put it into gear. When I put it back into park for a couple of minutes and then back into gear it seems to be ok. It also has a dead miss action, not as bad as the other time, when I stop at a stop sign. This one is intermittent.
I replaced the plugs a couple of months back.

I have used Injector cleaner but no change.

Any ideas?

 

I have a 2001 Dodge Neon and have started having trouble with the headlights. Sometimes they won't come on and sometimes they will. When they don't turn on, I turn them off and on several times, but it doesn't help. I can see the running lights are on, but not the headlights. Then the next time I get in the car, they will work just fine. Where should I start looking for the problem?
