Default 96 Neon Need Help With Tranny

Ok so I have a 96 Dodge Neon with a 2.0L SOHC. It has header, cold air intake, battery reroute to rear, bigger throttle body, 3 inch race exhaust, port and polished head, high compression pistons. The engine was rebuilt like 400 miles ago and clutch was just replaced about 50 miles ago and cv was replaced during engine rebuild. My problem is the transmission.. The engine is stronger and I have had 2 transmissions go out now. I need help on what Tranny will fit my 2.0L SOHC, and recomendations on what to do. Please help! I don't want to blow another tranny.. Tranny is split, not just internal damage.. Please let me know if I should beef up the tranny I could rebuild, (have another one that is stock) and how I would beef it up, or a different tranny that is tougher and will not break on me! Please help asap!

Sounds like the engine is just plain worn out, amongst some possible other things. How many miles are on it?

Default Fuel Pump fuse pops

Hey all. I have a 1998 Neon, have had it for 3 years, love it. It has 199,000 miles (complete engine rebuild in 2009). Has new starter and fuel pump. The problem started on the freeway during hot temps. The fuel pump fuse just would pop and, of course, would not run. I would put in a new fuse and drive for just a couple of miles and...pop! Anyway, we put in a new fuel pump..fine for a day or two and the same thing. It now has a new second fuel pump and no change. It has to be something electrical in the pump or around it. Any ideas?? The cost to get a diagnostic is just toooo high for my blood.

Thanks!!

I am having a problem with my 2005 neon sxt, it will not exceed 2500 RPMs. If it goes above the engine starts shaking and it loses power until it falls below again. there are no knocking sounds . I have already replaced plugs and wires. Does any one know what is possibly wrong?

Default Help and what to expect for Code P0344 Neon 2005

Greetings to all,

I have a 2005 Dodge neon and after the Error Code P0340, the Error Code P0344 came up. I changed the cam sensor and now looks like the crankshaft sensor needs to be changed. If I do so, what else could I expect to happen?

Thank you

Default 2004 dodge neon won`t start

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone here might know what seems to be the problem with my car or has had the same following problem:

A couple days my car just died on me. When I turn the key it sounds like the engine won`t engage, it just makes a click noise and if any lights are on they pulse on and off in sync with the clicks. I`m no mechanic but it seems like an alternator or starter problem.

What I know is wrong is both my passenger side(top and bottom) motor mounts keep cracking no matter how many times i change them, which makes me think the transmission mount might be broken too. I also notice the belt on the passenger side(timing?) is too flat and shines. Also about a week before going dead, the odometer kept saying "fuse" before it would start and my RPMs got blocked at about 2,200 and would not accelerate until the gear changed.

I gave the diagnostic command by turning the key and got the following codes from the odometer: P0016, P0456, P0700, P0344, P0340.

Could the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor be causing it not to even turn on?

Please if anybody might know what I have to do to get it to run (not even run well, I just need it to function), please let me know. Thanks.

Default 2005 O2 sensor repair

We recently replaced the 02 sensor after we thought it went out again (it was doing the same thing it did the last time). Well it turns out that the sensor was not the problem- any ideas on what it could be?

Check the O2 wiring for any breaks or to see if it is grounding out.
