Common Dodge Neon Repairs and Problems
Hey, I have had a 2003 dodge neon sxt for about a month now. when i bought it everything was running fine. well a week ago. it started to shift wrong. i was scared that it was the transmission. well i looked under my hood and my front top motor mount was broke so i bought a new one and replaced it and it ran great. for twenty minutes, then i got under the car because there was a really bad rattling sound and sure enough my bottom motor mount was broke so i just fixed that yesterday. well its stilll doing it and when i stick on the E brake and stick it in drive there is a real weird rattling sound right next to my timing belt or what ever that belt is called. does anyone have an idea on what it might be...thank you
yes! My '02 Neon fills up with water when it rains... . No leaks that I can find. Seems to fill trunk sometimes, but always fills back seat floorboards.
I've read that the problem is the seal around the trunk, try replacing that or using some silicon. We haven't had any rain in the 5 days since I got my neon but I'll be checking it out.
2005 Neon SXT Automatic.
The ATF was mixing with my coolant in my radiator-evidence=milky pink fluid in the radiator. Took it to the mechanic to put in a new transmission cooler (outside of the radiator to prevent future problem). He told me that there is water in my transmission and it needs to be taken out and worked on to correct any damage done by the water. Before I took it to the mechanic there was no evidence on the dip stick of water in the ATF. The fluid looked perfectly normal.
Is it possible for the ATF to get into the radiator but the water(coolant) not get into the transmission? I know the pressure in the tranny is higher than the radiator so it seems possible to me.

i have the same problem with my car now and i took it to aamco to get it checked out and they said it was the 3rd cylender had a strong missfire. they told me to replace the ignition coil and the spark plugs and wires. and if that doesnt fix the problem then go onto the fuel rail. i hope that the ignition coil and the spark plugs and wires fix the issue cuz i spent 130mbucks on those three things alone.
