RE: Electric Brakes
Vehicles equipped with the trailer tow package also include an electric trailer brake wiring provision that terminates at a connector located on top of the large body harness connection under the instrument panel to the left of the brake pedal, as well as an electric trailer brake pigtail harness and an instruction card (1) that are stored in the glove box (2) when the vehicle is shipped from the factory.

RE: Electric Brakes
Sorry to cut in I just bought the factory wire harness for my 2000 dakota,I am trying to hook up the trailer brake I found the connector near the brake pedal, hooked it to the brake controller and followed wires out cab to back of drivers front tire and the blue wire and two others stop at that connection, instructions tell me no splicing and to run blue wire through firewall to ? and doesn't explain anymore, question is where the wire dead ends at rear of tire can I hook blue wire there instead of through firewall? thanks again.
