Default Aero 4040 or 4040XL

Ok , had enough EGT's, which 4040 should I go with the Reg or the XL, I have the MBRP duals, cat back on already, but time to remove the cat and see how tha helps with my EGT's.
Oh yea, 2007 LB 4X4 Dually Quad cab Auto 5.9 not 6.7 ( if this helps )

I have the 4040 where the cat used to be with a 30" magnaflow behind it where the stock muffler used to be... very happy with that setup, little if any low end torque loss, egt's are in check and the tone is more than acceptable... love this setup...

The 4040 is a NON-resonated Aero whereas the 4040XL has a resonator built in. I went with the XL mounted back where the stock muffler was with no cat andI love it.

I can tell ya that if you go with the 4040 where the cat was it will be loud! I did it and after pulling the horse trailer up in the hills a few times I relocated it to where the stock muff was. Its still fairly loud when you get on it but not near as bad of drone in the cab. If I read your post correct, I assume since you have the cat back duels you are going to replace the cat with the aero. If so I would go with the "xl" muffler. If you are going to put if aft of the cab just depends on how loud you like it. Just my 2 cents.

Ok I will try and clear this up, sorry for not being clear form the start .

I have the MBRP muffler on for duals and plan on ( if worth it ) changing my CAT out for a 4040 or 4040XL, or should I ?

Thanks all
Ralph

My setup is not loud.... under full load you can still talk inside the cab... remember I have 2 mufflers.

another thought... I may be able to get an audio file of just how loud it is under full load if you like. have a lappy I can put on record inside the cab and run it up one of the steeper hills nearby.

NO please don't go through that just for me, I appreciate the offer though ( hey I am sure many on here would like to hear that , even me too )
My truck the way it is now, when under load at about 1950 - 2100 or 2200 is when it rumbles the best ( loudest ) in the cab but still it does not bother us, we are not to concerned with the increase in rumble under load, just not sure which way would do the high EGT's the best to help keep them down.

IE: Leave on the MBRP muffler for the duals and replace the stock Cat with the 4040 or th 4040XL or ?

Ok
I send aeor an email and they got back to me right away with the info I was looking for.

Jordan stated that the 4040 looks more like a CAT but will be a lot louder, and that the 4040XL will quieter one.

Sounds like they will both be ok with my MBRP dual muffler, so I guess I have to make up my mind now, we realy don't mind the noise, or will we?, when we drive for anywhere between 6 and 12 hours staight while towing, hmmmmm
