probably not to far of a stretch. With the amount of oil coming out of the exhaust, it may be worse !

damn triton, that sux dude. just a question drew. but is 1600f like way higher than anything these things can handle and it just melted the piston? or was something else other than egt usualy to blame for this sorta failure.

yep.... it was the heat brotha. 1600 was on the gauge but, in the motor it was much higher than that. A very short burst is probably ok once in a while but to sustain the temp for too long and you get that picture !

That's about all I can do. No use beating myself up for it, I knew what I was getting into trying to race a big ole truck. I really do look forward to building a nice motor. It's in the works already.

I still need to pull the head to see but, the feelers are out on a new motor.

You are taking it well. If it was me...I would be upset about the truck and in tears knowing the crap I would have to hear from the wife for the next few years.

DOOOOD.......that sucks. Even knowing full well what can/will happen, it still sucks when it does. But, now you can build a new on the way you want. I bet that's going to be pretty fun.

I figured if I buy a new motor, I can part this one out and make a good amount of money back. That way I won't be out of pocket as much as I could be
When you do get to that point, let us know what you got. I'm sure some of us could take some stuff off your hands.

Ditto that feeling here. Im sure there are a few of us that could use various spare parts.
