white"exhaust" usually depicts a water leak, right?

blue is oil burning off.

Depends on what the exhaust smells like. White smoke can either be coolant or fuel. Have you tried pulling the edge?

White smoke can also mean the engine is running lean. Check your lift pump.

now I was abruptly informed by a person that if you do not have enough fuel to a diesel engine, it will not run. you can not have a "lean" mixture since there is no carb or throttle body.
I told him that he was full of it.....

what yall think?

Can't run a diesel lean. The only time you run "rich" (no such thing on a diesel) is you dump alot of fuel until your turbo spools up. Usually if you have a programmer/tuner on. The white smoke could be an injector and blue is oil burning. Could be alot of scenarios out there. Take it to a mechancic or if under warranty take to a dealer to check out.

you can run a diesel "lean" as in not enough fuel. . .most of the time the engine will just die
