Default Finally got to pull someone out!

I was working at someones house the other day and they also had some guys cutting down a tree with a big bucket truck (like they use on the power lines). One of the guys walks over and asks if I can pull him out, he didnt think the grass was that soft and got stuck. This truck was pretty big so I wasnt sure what was going to happen but they threw a big rope around the hitch, I put it 4wd and out they came. The guy I work with coudltn believe it, he actually told me I shouldnt do it because I might break something in my truck because the other truck was so big. I told him its a cummins baby! I cant wait to rescue someone else, I really enjoyed that!

Cool, congrats on the rescue... I have a 5/8" (?)chunk of truckers rope under the back seat for just the occasion. It used to be 30' or so but after the incident this past summer, now sits at 22'. I might have to go get another chunk and make another one with 3/4" rope (next size up from what I have). Or break down and get a tow strap (probably cheeper). The good thing on a tow strap is they are rated for 30k (the one I want anyway 3"x30), the bad thing is if it breaks, your stuck. with the rope... 15~20 minutes & your back in business...

I tied two tow straps together to reach my truck one time. Don't do that, they will never come undone.

Loop them through one another. or use d-shackles. Works like a charm.

I did loop them through each other. But I did have a GMC dually, a jeep, and the winch on the jeep pulling me to get me out.
