I think I pulled my liver
well. . .I finaly got the time and nice enough weather to start on the little yoda. . .and if things go well I might be able to get these stage 1 cams in.
the tranny jack I borrowed from work is pretty much a useless POS, I had to bench press the tranny out[:'(], for the most part. the clutch is good, but I'm gunna go ahead and replace the rear main/pilot bearing and rebuild the trannywhile Ive got everying out. hopefully that will fix my shifting problem[:@]then front and rear brake jobs, new shocks, new suspension bushings and what ever else I find I need to do short of dropping a 4bt under the hood

RE: I think I pulled my liver
You know I have pulled a tranny out of a Toy four times in my lifeand have never used a tranny jack. The last one was a clutch replacement in my 90 Toyota pickup. (I had done it once before in that truck) I was pretty proud when done, pulled it out, changed clutch and pressure plate and was starting it up with clean hands in 35 minutes. I must confess though the last time I did it at a buddy's house who has a ramp to drive up on with a pit under it, and he helped me pull the tranny out and set it on the ground.
But they do last quite a while, I had a 78 toy sr5 that went 279k before I sold it, and a 90 that went 195k before I bought my Dakota...and none of those miles were easy, I was definitely much harder on equipment when I was younger!
I was under the Ram the other day wondering if I could do the tranny work myself, and looking at the transmission, I laughed to myself thinking, there is no way in hell I am gunna pull that thing out onto my chest to get it out, and benchpress it back into place...SO I think I am gunna have it done by someone else!
