RE: OT: Bikes
I just recently sold my 03 Kawasaki Ninja 600rr and my 05 Yamaha R6. Both were awsome bikes and I was able to squeeze 45 mpg out of both of them. I'm not too hip on the cruisers but i'm sure you can get one for a reasonable price and they'll get good gas milage too. Oh ya, the motorcycle licese is very easy too. There are only 1 or 2 tricky questions on the written test. The driving test was easy too, they said it couldn't be done easily on a sport bike, but I kicked that tests A@#. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Mayfair, i second the nice bike. I really like all the nighsters or night trains or night somethin...those all black bikes are saweet. I'd really like to get an american made bike if the triumph doesn't get started back up. Who all are the american companies, other than victory and harley?

i've got an '04 victory kingpin. bought it new in '04 and have had zero problems. average 40mpg. looks good and rides nice.
victory and harley are the only 2 major manufactures....there are a few others but they will be pricey and still use the harley engine design...that's not a bad thing....but, why not get a harley then. victory will be cheaper by a little, but doesn't quite have the aftermarket support yet (much more now, than when i bought mine) compared to harley. if you do plan on doing lots of highway driving...the new harley and victory w/ the overdrive would be very nice. when i bought i was also thinking about the kawasaki vulcan and a harley springer....the wife told me to get what i wanted regardless of price (she didn't want to hear me bitch about what i got after the fact)....so i said to hell w/ the kaw, then rode the harley and victory. i'd spend more up front for a new harley...then have to spend another grand for the accessories (sadle bags, floor boards, backrest, and windshield) and about another $500 for performance to get even with the victory.
don't get me wrong...if i had the cash i'd also have the springer classic...or springer heritage...whatever it's called now
