Default No Backup Lights

Ok, I have had no backup lights for the past several months, finally decided to fix it. Changed the transmission reverse switch (didn't work), checked all the fuses and they were fine, traced the wires and found none broken, checked the bulbs and they were good (still put new ones in). They used to come on every once in a while, now they never do. Any ideas, happen to anyone else???

If you hold the gear selector up just a bit towards park, do they come on?

Process of elimination.... Check the back-up switch to make sure it's getting power... if it is.. then check the wires.....over time you'll narrowdown where your problem is....

Mine dont work either, but I think its my bulbs. I've just been to lazy to change or bother with it for as much as I back up.

Jake, I have a 6 speed, the lights don't even flash going into reverse....

07, I did do all of that, I tried to get a reading off of the plut for the switch but I can't get a good reading, keep getting ones too high in the "hundreds"

Take a piece of wire and jump across the two terminals in the connector and see if the lights come on.

set a relay under the rear end in a plastic box. run a line to your console and install a neat little toggle switch for the back up lights...then you dont have to rely on the trans or gear selector. just make it illuminated so you remember to turn em off!

Aite Jake, I tried this and still nothing. I'm at a loss here, any other suggestions. Anyone's input is helpful also.

Check the grounds on the lights. Best way is with an ohm meter.
People always assume its a power problem and fail to check the ground path.
