Clunk noise
HI I'm new here and new to the deisal world and cummins.
i just bought a 2007 2500 5.9 it has about 700kms on it so far, well everytime i start the truck up and let it run/drive about 5 mins into it, i get this Clunk noise from the passenger side, and then doesnt happen again, pretty much happens everytime, when im into 5 mins of the truck running/driving, if anyone could help me that would be great, last thing i want is to bring it back into the dealership and lose work time,
thanks

RE: Clunk noise
clucks are usually ball joints. If you jacked up the wheels and try to wiggle them, there should be no play... if there is, you need ball joints. Also check the trailing arms to make sure they're tight.
I know your truck is pretty new but, the ball joints are known for going bad. Dodge has always has problems with their front ends.

don't be fooled by your mileage. I've seen many posts from people that have lost injectors with less mileage. Ball joints too. In fact, it's well known that our trucks come from the factory with very low differental fluid. Dealers are suppose to check all that when they get the trucks but, not all do. Mine was half of what it should have had and it was the worse looking gear lube you'd ever seen.
The best thing you can do it to lift the front of the truck up and start wiggling everything. If somethings lose... you'll know it.
