My brother finally got himself a truck. Its the truck I wanted when i was in High School. Its a GMC, 5.3 Gas. 6 inch lift, 36 inch Super Swampers. Not a good tire for a truck that is a daily driver.

 

I was just informed it is a 2WD. Not worth what he paid IMO.

 

You sure those are 36" tires, also where's the other 4.5 inches of lift? Is it just the curb that's making it look short?
I dont get lifting (susp not talking bout levelers or bodys lifts) a 2wd truck, costs too much and serves no function.
I would never buy a 2wd truck, could have bough a ctd with just 28k miles warn winch grill guard but it was 2wd, who cares what you can tow when you'll get stuck in wet grass.

How's he liking the truck. What kind of car did he have or is this his fist veh. Always a shock the first few fillups in a truck when you've been driving a car.

He drove a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. Yes I agree with you, he is gonna hurt for a while until he gets used to filling up once a week. I think it is the curb he is on. Plus, it is a 2wd. So 6 inches from stock 2wd height is not that much. Those 36's look pretty big for that fender well. It is Arizona, there isnt much wet grass you can get into. It is all sand and dirt where we (he) lives. As long as he doesnt try and crawl through things he should be fine. Just dont stop. Me personally I would not waste my money on a 2wd, but he is 19 years old, with a wife and a 4 month old baby boy. He is stupid and learning life the hard way, Hopefully some day he will learn to manage life.

Yeah he should have bought a camry, last him twice as long with half the problems and twice the mpg and twice the resale.

 

Key word "Should" have. But what 19 year old wants to drive a camry. We are a off road family, I sure as hell wouldnt want to drive a camry. He should have just put some money into his 79 K5 Blazer I hooked him up with years ago. I built that engine strong, all it needs is a valve body and it would be on the road.

 

I kinda like that truck. I wouldn't have spent the time on a 2wd, but I think it looks good. That 5.3 is a great motor though with pretty decent power. We had one in our suburban and didnt have to do anything in 100k.
