It has happened before. Back in the Clinton days. One of my old NCO's was telling me about it. The army didnt get paid for about 3 months.
I tell you what though, if I don't get paid, I ain't showing up for work.

Back in 95 the husband went 5 pay periods (10 weeks) with out pay because Congress didn't approve the DoD budget. Then they tried to jerk em around even farther by saying they would pay them those 5 checks pro-rated by adding $200 a check.

I was in the Air Force from 92 to 96, I dont remember missing a check. Maybe if the goverment didnt spend 1.2 trillion dollars on the war they could pay those guy's. There just trying to strong arm congress into another 102 billon. I remember George saying " I will fund this war with the oil we get" well , Im still waiting. Warren Buffet is only the smartest man on the planet when it comes to economics. He said the country is in a recession only because of the war. Im not aliberal im just saying the war should have lasted 6-8 months. I servedafter desert shield I remeber going to kuwait for clean up in the fall of 92. The war lasted about 7 months and cost 62 billon, which 52 billon was paid byother country's. Iraqat thetime had1.2 million ground troops with about 5,800 tanks, 5,100 other armored vehicles, and 3,850 artillary pieces. Iraq also had 750 fighters and bombers, 200 other aircraft, and elaborate missile and gun defenses., it was really over in the first 30 days. Now were trying to fight a bunch of civillians running around with rpg's and bombs strap to thier backs. We should pull out before we loose more.

Stiffing our military BLOWS !! [:@]
Here's what I don't get though ...
They keep saying that we're spending X amount of money on this war, but what are we REALLY spending on the war? How much MORE are we spending than we normally do?
Meaning ...
If we have lets say 100 guy's stationed here and we're paying them X amount of money, what is the difference if they are here or over there? I can understand the added cost of sending them over there, and also the cost of bullets, but after that, how much more than usual is REALLY being spent?
You know what I mean?
