OT... damn it! Lou's gone!
today Jr was entering thru the side gate & Louie escaped. Bud called him but only ended up scaring him... he backed into the street and got nailed by a car that was slowing (10~15 mph max according to Bud). He then bolted and is no where to be found... [sm=boohoo.gif][sm=boohoo.gif][sm=boohoo.gif] my hiking buddy is MIA...

for those of you who dont know him... we adopted him from the spca at about 1 year old, put him thru 16 weeks of doggie trainning and he's become the best dog ever! almost never on a leash out front while I'm working in the yard or on the cars, has hiked with me at least 100 miles over the last 2~2.5 years and basiclly goes with me every time I go (provided he's allowed on the trails).

If he's hurt he'll probably still be near and holed up in covered area. Are you in a rural area? Make sure your drive is well lit.
I was getting ready to take my dogs hiking an when I opened the door they both just bolted (never done that before) and it took 30 minutes of driving to find em. Dogs will come back, when I go to the coast I'm in the middle of nowhere, closest person is usually 4-6 miles away and my dogs will just run free, I keep a whistle and will use my truck horn to call em in.
If your local pd has a k9 search and rescue team I would use them. For me personally I would pay just about anything to rescue my dogs. Don't see why they'd say no if you paid em unless they're busy with a person.
