I agree ferd auto lock hubs are crap! Most of them carrode and start to freeze up and won't lock on there own. From what I have seen, when the freeze up, its usually only one that dies and it usually locks up half way and grinds itself to death. The ferd dealer told me to make sure to move them back and forth once a week in order for them to last awhile longer. I had to use plyers to turn them as they were stiff and couldn't get my fat hand inside the hub cap (dually) to turn them. I have a used one in good shape (24k miles) for sale if anyone is interested? Trading it away was the best repair I ever did on a ford!
