Default The Honking Truck

The horn on my 2004 Dodge 2500 Diesel has started honking randomly just setting in the drive, does anybody have any ideas on why this would happen?
I had to disconnect the horn to stop it.
Help!

Sounds like the horn switch in the steering wheel cover is sticking...

The truck has the keyless entry and the horn chirps normally when you lock it with the remote. The truck has been setting for a about a month and I took it for a wash and drive, then it starts honking that evening. I'm sure thats just a coincidence.
Is the sticking of the steering cover something that could happen from cold weather? The truck has been setting out in the cold; then was warmed by driving it; and then it was very cold that evening when it started honking in the early morning.
I'm hoping when it warms up I would reinstall the horn and it will stop. Is this something that the dealer will need to address?
Thank you very much for the help.

I hope someone has a fix for this. I have a friend who has that problem. He has traced it to the dash circuit in the fuse box and has the fuse out, so the remote door locks and radio don't work

I have seen several trucks sitting on the lot when the horn just blows for no reason. It was always the steering wheel pad...Hot or cold never mattered...

I had this problem one time. The panic horn kept going off. I would turn it off and a moment later it would go off again. The issue was diagnosed to a spare key in the pant pocket of some jeans in the washing machine.

Good luck on your issue!

I think the diagnose of the spare key might be it. I'd left the daily set of keys at work so I used the spare key, that evening the horn started blowing. I wonder?
If it quits snowing I'll install the horn and see what happens.
