Default Squeaky belt on engine cut-off

Hey all. I just bought an 04 5.9 cummins and just wondering if anyone knows why the belt squeaks when I cut the engine off. Its just a small squeak but somewhat annoying. Don't figure this to be any big issue or problem just one of those things I'm hoping has an easy fix. Any suggestions for fixing this or any reasoning as to why this is happening would be appreciated. I've tried a belt dressing spray but didn't seem to make a difference. As far as I can see the belts are in good shape too. Any input appreciated.Thanks.

Its the belt and tensioner. Has the belt fell off yet? To cure this go to CUMMINS dealer and buy a belt @ $23.42 and tensioner @ $61.74 and keep a 1/2 inch ratchet and a 13mm 3/8 short socket with ratchet in your truck so when it flys off you don't have to get a tow anywhere.
I bought 2 of each one to put on and the other set to keep in truck with me so when its breaks I can fix it myself.

totally normal. the CTD runs on a very high compression which causes the motor to slow down fast upon shut off so fast that the deceleration can cause a squeak from the belt as the main crank pulley slows to a stop but everything else is moving. totally normal for the motor.

You can get a kit from the dealer to add a one way clutch to the alternator.
this will stop the belt squawk.
Part #05183490AA

Might smooth out your engine at idle too.
Many newer vehicles have this style clutch on the alternator to smooth out the engine.
They save wear and tear on the tensioner too.
