Amosil in my opinion is not that good. I tried it once & it acted more like a conventional base oil rather than a synthetic base oil. Never again will I use it. I have always trusted Mobil1. Mobil1 has never let me down. I use it from the engine to the differential. It's the best synthetic oil on the market.

I use amsoil in everything that takes oil i had mobil 1in my jeep and at -20 it sounded like a diesel starting switched bck to amsoil and -25 sounded like a darn gas engine again. We also used it in a toyota pick up (amsoil) the tranny wouldnt shift whell when it was 0 out changed to synthetics and at -60 in Ely mn it seemed as if that was the only thing that was moving plastc was breaking, like drew said though we all ave a preferance

I am using Royal Purple 15w40 w/K&N oil filter. I have heard nothing but good things about it and I run it in my 68 VW beetle. Only problem with it is the cost. At almost $8 a quart, it's got to be the most expensive oil out there. I must not be as sensative to the changes I hear everyone else talk about. I keep hearing how quiet the motor is after using so and so....and I don't notice the truck running any better or worse due to the oil but either way, it's a peace of mind kinda thing I guess.

I just started this week with Amsoil 5w30 HDD in my truck @13K (I have used it in in the past on all my gas engines) and was surprised that it was a little qutier then the 5w40 (so called synthetic) Rotella I took out. Also I noticed less engine noise at start up and again at 55 and 70 MPH. Today I also noticed when I checked the oil that after132 miles it was not as black as the other oils I had tried before I switched to Amsoil. My self I think the Amsoil is cleaner at 132 miles then the other oils I tried were 3 minutes after I put them in.

using rotella 15 w 40 with advanced soot control....seems to be good oil and yes it stinks....used to use valvoline premium blue which is endorsed and recommended by cummins....but to hard to get around here no one keeps it. also cost alot i was paying 9.88 a gallon. use purolator pure one filter its an expensive filter but i think its worth the money......in my opinion the valvoline oil was great oil but like i said it was just too hard to get

i use the valvoline premium blue 15W40 and change it every 5000 along with the oil and fuel filters. around here, it seems as though the only filter i can find is the fram. i keep reading more and more bad things about the fram, but noone stocks anything but fram for our rigs. im gunna hafta go to the dealer or order some filters from geno.

Well after using Rotella oil I don't think much of it other then it was cheap oil and easy to find. Now that I have Amsoil it my truck I'll never go back to dino oil. That is unless I get super poor and it's all I could afford and even then I would have to think real hard about using it.

MOBIL-1 HAS A 5W40, CHRYSLER PART NUMBER 68001332AA THAT IS APPROVED BY CUMMINS AND IS DIESEL OIL.
I USE IT AND GET IT FROM MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER FOR $7.79 A QUART.
