well so much for the ats mileage test...
so there I was, driving home on the freeway and boom, and then truck goes dead. I get it pulled over and try to fire it back up and nothing. great! now what. So I pop the hood and disconnect the power to the Edge, wait a minute or so, then plug it back in and try it again. fires right back up. however the CE light is on. take off once again and seems to be down on power.
long story short... the edge blew up yesterday [:@]... it appears to be running on the stock settings. tried it earlier this morning and going from stock to the #3 setting (60 hp) drives the same. so it looks like i'll be sending this one back.
edit: oh yeah, DieselNut came over and cleared the codes... both relating to the injector circuit. the codes have not come back.

They didn't tell you what or why the first one failed and now your second one takes a dump on you......
This almost reason enough for me not to purchase the Edge products......
Although, I'm sure there are 95% of you using the Edge that have not experienced any problmes at all......

yeah the downloaders are looking mighty nice right now... I am so pissed. since I'm down to only 1 truck I have to keep driving it... so I play with the different levels and there is something there but it's not like it's supposed to be. I guess I'll be yanking it out tomorrow as I'll be heading up into the mtns on monday... [:@]

Must be something in the air. My QuadZ 65 HP chip took a dump on me yesterday. I had just reinstalled it and the BDTD after getting the truck back from the dealer and it sounded like it had about $20 in quarters pinging around in there instead of the usual $2. Eratic power and turbo surges. Left the wiring harness on and replaced the chip with the stock pypass plug and Voila! All is well.
All this just when I was contemplating on replacing the BDTD with the QuadZ race set up. Oh well. At least I have the BDTD to fall back on. Tough luck, a three day weekend too, sorry Steve00.

I guess maybe its the fact im older now or the fact i have ben working on heavy diesels for a while .But i dont get the whole chip/programmer deal, they give you lots of power that you dont need ,At the cost of thousands out of your wallet and ruining the engines durability. For what ?? So you can dust some ricer at a light!! my truck is a month old 06 ,First cummins i ve owned other truck was a power stroke. Love the new truck. My buddy has a 05 cummins ,lifted, geared ,37" tires 20" wheels edge and big pipe exhuast and another $5000 worth of cool stuff on the truck and i raced him 3 times street and freeway and still dusted him and im stock so im not seein the point
BUT HEY OPPINIONS ARE LIKE A###OLES AND MINE IS BIGGER AND STINKIER

if your buddy's truck was on stock lift & tires i'm sure it'd be a different story. when you add the bigger tires for off road clearance you loose power across the rpm range, then modding will help bring it back and balance it out better.
My 2000 ram was externally modded pretty good, heads, rollers etc and it screamed. took all the performance parts off it and put it back to stock and it was much slower and non-responsive. if I had brought it all the way back to stock tires & rims it would have been fine. however, the underbody would have complained on the trails I take...
it really depends on what you do with your truck...

hahaha...! well, IDK WTF is going on with it... since this post, the box has woken up and now seems to be functioning correctly. My question however is there any kind of learning that the pcm goes thru on a battery disconnect? I first notice no change from the edge after I did a battery disconnect to try and clear the codes (which didnt work btw)... now 2~300 miles later the box is back...[sm=dontgetit.gif]
