Alaskan cruise is in my 2007 plans. Anybody got any recommendations??....season, cruise line, ports to see, etc

 

depending opn how far in advance you book you will get certian perks, a few weeks ago we found out a Military discount was put into effect for our cruise. . .over $1100 back to us baby!!!

 

Who wants to take a cruise to alaska? I wanna go there to go fishing and maybe some hunting.

 

that would be another good trip... drive up there and take 1~2 months to explore it.

 

We just got a new guy at work, he's from alaska. All he talks about is pulling out 45lb salmon out of rivers. All I can say is that had to be a hell of a fight.

 

I used to fish the sacramento river and pull 30~40 lb salmon out. they closed the banks down a couple of years back and havent been fishing for them since [:@]

I saw a guy back then pull a 45 lber out using a 6' pole and IIRC 16 lb test on it. took him about 25 minutes before he finally landed it. his buddies went in knee deep to put a net on it and haul it up. If I wasnt standing right next to them, i'd never believed it.

 

Last time I was fishing there were some jerks across the bank. Next to me was a father and his son (Couldn't have been older than 10), first time his son had ever been fishing for "big fish" the kid got a big King salmon on fought with it for about 15 min, his pole snapped. He grabbed the line and pulled it in by hand after fighting with it another 10 min. His hands were all bloody but he landed it. Only problem was it wasn't in season for kings. The guys across the river said you can't keep that its illegal. I told the kid and his father to put it in my cooler and take off with it. They came back a couple hours later and thanked me. Guys across the river still were yelling. Couldn't believe it, it was the kids first big fish. anyway I'm rambling now so I'll shut up.

It's not fair you that all get to go have fun and here I have to wait until Dec 9th before I can leave to go have some fun in Las Vegas

GF & I decide to get married on Dec 12th after all of theses years together [sm=drlove.gif] She chose that we go to Las Vegas so her family could drive to be there! We'll get to stay at a five star resort for Free thanks to her sister and the time-share they have [sm=happy046.gif]
