Just found a brand new 2005 dually ctd, please help
Hello everyone,
I am ready to buy the truck finally. I just went to a dealer here and they had one 2005 RAM 3500 Dually CTDLeramie in stock.
It is two years old (2005 model since now the 2007s are out)and it had 1300 miles on it. They are selling it as a brand new car so all the warranties will start from the mileage and the date it is purchased.
The Sticker price on it was 48,160 (MSRP)
They are asking $34,500 plus taxes and tags
Do you think it is a good deal?
I was gonna buy a 2007 for about 7k off from sticker.
Thanks

It has
-CTD
-4x4
-Auto
-Leramie
-4.10 gearing
Basicly, it will be around $13,500 off from MSRP If I get the 2005 with 1300miles.
If I get 2007 with 15miles or sp, similar car, would be 7,500 off from the MSRP
Do you think the discount they are giving is good for the 2005 with 1300miles. Also, this car could have been test driven and etc but I will be the first owner legally.
I wasn't so sure about the 4.10 gear as I will do lot of city driving. Does it effect a lot? Also any differences between 2005 CTD and 2007 CTD mechanically?
Thanks for all the help.

Can they still sell an 05 as new ?
1300 miles doesn't sound very new to me. It sounds like someone bought it, and it either got repo'd or it was a lemon type nightmare. Either that or it was the dealer's winter car.
Whatever .... 1300 miles aint new !!

Just thought of another thing. An 05 may or may not qualify as new when it comes time to finance. Check with a bank, NOT with the dealer !!!
I dunno ... I'd be leery. I guess it's because I generally don't trust dealers and I HATE salesmen !!

I think I will pass on this car.

I know you really want your Ram, but this particular Ram just sounds cursed from the jump. Think about it .... it's probably been sitting there since mid2004 !!!
On another note ... I've heard here that some guy's are getting some pretty sweet deals on Mega Cabs in Texas. Might be worth the drive.
