oil change info...
Thanks for [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]me where it hurts..... While I'm fumbling with my OVERSIZED oil wrench.... trying to get in that little space.... and after I am drenched with oil[:@]cause I was toooo slow to take my plug out.... I'll be thinking of YOU!
If its a dirty job- I'll take pics. Then you can feel bad cause you didn't tell me sooner.... LOL
And also when I'm scrubbing my driveway from all the oil I spilled- you'll wish I had video of it.[sm=icon_guiness.gif]

You know me dude, I'll have pics of every step for ya.
It DOES stick down deeper than the stock plug ( obviously ) but I don't think it'll stick down THAT far. Either way, the lever is a 2 step action. You hafta push out and down at the same time in order to open the valve, so I don't see it accidently opening. I'm sure I'm gonna love it. I went with the nipple version so that I can just slip on a short piece of hose and direct the oil right into the gallon jug. I think it's gonna be cool.

Get some pics when you actually put it on, preferably from the side so I can see reference to the frame rails.
Thanks man!

Well I did it last weekend. Had to break loose the drain plug. B/F went out and loosened it but left it in to trickle into the pan. I had to loosen the plug with my fingers then AT LAST it came out- in a five inch spout of oil!!!!! [:@]All over me and thegravel.......... No wonder B/F told me he won't do it again...... Happenedto him last time.

That's why the finger flip valve is so good you can open it slow and shut it back off, your not doing that with 3 gallons on the way out when the drain plug comes out.
Plus it makes it easy if your going to get a sample to send in for testing, I got mine the other day and will install it at my first oil change.
I want the oil by-pass system next , I'm going to sign up with ams-oil, so I can buy whole sale, and see what their price is on one, I like to have the one with the pre-luber, but I have to check the price against the 2500 by-pass to see which would be the best buy.

LOL, thanks for the pic!!! that is priceless.
I had another look in the manual and there are 2 maint. schedules, A & B. B is severe duty and gets a 7500 mile oil change interval. the A is for light duty and gets a 15k interval. So with that said and my romping on it held to a minimum (normal driving 95% of the time...) and the oil bypass in place, I'm going to sample @ 10k and seehow itgoes.
Someone suggested draining out 3 quarts of oil and put in 3 new quarts about every7500~10k miles. that way your always getting fresh oil introduced into the motor on a regular basis. Not sure if i'll be doing that or notas i'd prefer all or none. I'll let you know how the oil analysis goeswhen the time comes.
given the fact that my total mileage driven since the last day of work has been under 150 miles it may be a while... [&:]
