oil change info...
Even if I buy the drain plug- chances are I may look like that again....
I'm sold on it. cheaper than the clothes I had to throw away! Also seems like my leak has quit so far. I'm gonna keep mine at about 5k mile changes.

If you look like that again with the plug, it's because you wanted to. I can't imagine how you'd wind up looking like that with the flipper valve unless you WANTED to look like that !!
Don't feel bad, more of us than will admitt here have had our own "valdeez" experience while changing our oil. Mine happened on my '99 Ford 7.3L I lost grip of the 2 quart oil filter full of hot engine oil. It went all over me and the drive way. It is amazing how far 2 quarts of oil spreads out in the driveway, and how fast it wicks into your clothes.
Only problem is is doesn't cool down quick enough. [:@]

i may be changing my oil WAYYYYYYYYY to much but i dont care, i change it every 3750 twice as often as the severe service.. one being a tech and seeing cars come in EVERY DAY where they dont change there oil enough and seeing that sludge covering everything i rather be safe then sorry i dont care its only like a 100 bucks every couple months.. so when my truck has 500,000 miles on it and its still crusin along il be thankful i spent that money.. even if those oil changes are really not nessisary its still keeping things clean... plus i do alot of short trips i work 2 miles from home for the time being.. chicago weather is horrible really HOOTT really COLD! so thats my 2 cents... id rather spend the extra money on oil and filters even if its not ness it makes me happy!
If you only drive 2 miles then I'm not sure I would even let it go much past 3K as you are being extra hard on not only your oil but engine too. I do hope you load your truck up once and a while and run it on a long trip or two.
The nice thing with the valve is you can drain right to emptyjugs instead of pouring it out of the drain pan into gallon jugs so you can take to be recycled.
But then you miss outon achance of pouring oil all over the place
Here's some pictures of the valve installed after my first old change, first one is looking from the passengers side

Second one is looking from the front, if you look 2 inches to the left of the damper end, you can see the nipple, I'm shooting low to high so the nipple is even with the front end

Last is from the rear
