Default Need help with bracket

Hi

I'm putting my 1997 Dodge cargo van (2500 3.9 V6) back together (after a lengthy overhaul project) and can't remember where this bracket should go.

I'm hoping someone recognizes it. Judging from the grime I was thinking somewhere around the power steering but I'm not sure.

Thanks for reading my post.

Nobody? Please, help me.

No ... Not me ... I'm not deserving since this is all my fault. Do it for the bracket!

Save this poor bracket from the, already overflowing, drawer of odd, homeless items. It doesn't deserve that lowly fate.

It needs you!

Sorry, my brackets are different and I don't have a clue. I'll look around and see if I can find something though!

I will look around and under my van tomorrow and see if it is on mine. I have the 5.2L engine but to my knowledge the accessories all interchange between the three engines.

Just off hand I am wondering if it goes on the oil pan to hold the transmission lines.

I did not find anything like that on my van, not even by the power steering pump.

It might, and I stress might, be the lower support bracket for the A/C compressor. Look at the red circled areas of the two different setups in these two pictures and see what you think.

I doubt it for that looks to be an earlier type set up, lol I see the mechanical fuel pump on the left side of the pic. Our van have a single piece bracket for the alternator and AC compressor. And the compressor has 4 bolt that are vertical mount.

It is not the rear alternator/AC compressor mounting for either the alternator side or behind the compressor.

I am thinking some one may have pulled a joke and got it out of the odd homeless parts drawer and put it with the engine.

You're laughing at me for trying to help him?
After that you'd better really hope it doesn't turn out to be an A/C compressor bracket.

No the one on the back side of the AC would be a triangular mount type, 2 bolts hold the bracket on the back of the compressor and the other end is held by one bolt to the intake manifold.

Maybe the alternator side to intake manifold to the alternator/AC bracket, but on mine it does not look like the one in his pictures.
