Default 4.7L Won't Squeel?

I have a 4.7L on a 2002 Ram 1500 Q/C 2x4 with around 23k miles and 17" wheels with stock tires. I just got it a couple weeks ago and have been babying it. But the other day I decided to see what it was holding. So I come to a complete stop and hit the gas. Pushed the peddle to the floor and didn't even get a squeek. I was very suprised by this so I tried it again and again and was never able to get any kind of sound at all other than the engine roaring.

I just traded in my old 84 ford f150 with a straight 6 cylinder for this dodge, and my old ford could peel the tires off (It was only a 2 door, but still...) yet this new Dodge with a V8 can not even make a squeek?!?

What's the problem here?

I kinda wonder the same thing. I test drove an 02 a while back and I tried to light the tires up but the truck wouldn't do jack! My buddy has the 03 model with a 4.7 and 20's and he can light his tires up. The only thing I can think of that may be different between the two trucks is the rear diff. gearing. Did DC restrict the 02's or is it the gearing?

A little? I would say they are REAL weak. I am not sure which gearing I have, any idea how to find that out?

Look on the rear axle near the drivers side tire. Should have gear ratio there.

Well I did some research for you guys, I looked up some of the specs. Actually there alot of specs that people may find useful on this site. Hopefully this info will help you indentify your rear gears. There also may be a stamp on the back of the cover.
Enjoy, Kevin
