does it go to 5500 then it sounds and feels like no more, thats the beauty of the govnr or the restriction thats programed into ur ecm, its prolly on ur trans it tells the motor any more hp and we might have ta break, its like a safegaurd, heck if we didnt have'm we wouldnt be ride'n around we would all be at the dealer ship constantly trying to get our rides out the shop
i think somebody else on this forum mentioned their vehicle hittn 180mph in there dodge, and my truck kuts out at 98mph from the restrictor thats got its choke hold on the miniature ponies in my mopar corral(my truck)but that would be sweet

I hit 5500 rpm and left two beautiful burnout marks one the way home from the dealership. [sm=smiley15.gif] I've never "broken in," any of my vehicles, nor ever had any engine problems. I usually drive my vehicle for 90,000-100,000 miles. Some people will accuse me of blasphomy, but I don't get my oil changed every 3,000 miles either. (Ooops, I already used the devil smiley.)

Well BigDave, you've put to rest a rumor that has been going on for too long. Most modern engines do not require a long break in period as compared to the engines of the past decades. Today's oils, (espically synthetics) are better as are the fittings on the engines. You should still "cool it" for the first few hundred miles or so, your "burn outs"
are going to catch up with you. This is age and experience talking, not opinion.....[sm=smiley20.gif]
