Default Stratus blowing oil on top of engine?

My wifes 2001 Stratus is blowing oil all over the top of the engine, I'm pretty sure it is coming from the oil fill cap. I tought I fixed the problem when I put in a new PCV valve and cleaned the PCV valve hose. One week later it did it again, anyone know what the problem is??

Welcome to DF
Could be the valve cover gasket, cam seals or the oil pressure switch.

After it happens the oil cap is always lifted when I pop the hood. I have been sick the last few days but did get it in the garage. I have fixed a few things on this car before but this one is making me nuts. The car does have 128,000 miles if that helps anyone. I have a Haynes book for this car that I use all the time and will check out that switch, where is the oil pressure switch?

Thanks for all the help and I know I will need more on this one.

PCV valve but did you also replace the hose? I had to replace mine but purchased one at autozone and used a clamp to really tighten it up. Hasn't leaked since. fyi

No I did not put on a new hose for the 2001 2.7 I can only get at the dealer and it has a sensor in it $75.

If PCV problems are solved, and problem doesn't, it could be blow-by. Like compression blown past the piston rings and causing abnormal pressure that blows oil our the filler cap. Check engine compression ( wet and dry).

How do you do a leakdown test? Sounds like some thing I might have to take to a shop to have done.
