Unhappy 2000 dodge stratus no spark out of ideas.... please help

So my girlfriends car was idling on a hill and just stalled wouldn't start again. So I took the intake manifold off and all the plug cavities were filled with oil so my guess the gaskets in the valve covers leak but anyway cleaned it all up and no spark to any of the plugs so I changed all of them and the wires still nothing so I checked voltage to pcm and all the 80 something pins have voltage and the 2 plugs that go to the distributor also have voltage so don't see how it could be the pcm all fuses in the box are good under the hood I checked the cap and rotor they had a little corrosion I cleaned them up and still nothing ....... I'm on a tight budget like most and don't want to replace a bunch of stuff that's not broken so any help. Would be greatly appreciated

Yea but even if the timing belt was off it would still get spark it would just be misfiring. Badly I believe so don't think thats the cause....

Does the car have a 2.4 or 2.5 v6 motor? If a timing belt fails you will not have spark! Same as a camshaft sensor.

It has a 2.5v6. I wouldn't be getting a trouble code for a faulty camshaft sensor?

Not if it just went out. your ecu wouldn't have had time to get a reading.

And according to what I see the camshaft sensor is built into the distributor and the whole thing needs to be replaced which baffles me cause the picture I see shows the exact same sensor located on the side of the block and has a plug.....
