V10 Club
I have a v10 in my 2002 2500 4x4 quad cab....167k and counting, all stock. Been trouble free so far, but having to crank it longer than normal to start it up after sitting overnight. Anyine have this happen to them, or have any thoughts? Fuel pump was replaced 2 years ago, plugs and wires changed at 100k. Everything else original equipment.
Thanks

I'm I missing something? I went with a chrome differential cover, thought I ordered the 60/70 cover. Yet, It seems slightly smaller, where the gasket was viable at the bottom for at least a half inch. Now I have a very small leak.
Doesn't most 1996 Dodge Ram 2500HD 4x4 V-10 have a Dana 60 in the front and a Dana 70 in the rear?
Don't want to order another cover only to experience the same problem.
Any help?

This may seem odd but how old it the old in it I ran in to a similar issue with mine when I get about 5000 miles on the oil. Even with mobile 1.
It may be the viscosity with relation to temperature. In reality we should change weights for the seasons. I have a stock V10 with 147K and here in upstate NY; with the cold; it takes a few extra cranks to get her going. Not much...I am not cranking for more than a few seconds total. Usually it starts right ups after two turns, but the cold effects the ignition systems as well. My wife's Chevy Cavalier would not start if it was out in chilling winds, we also went through some IGM equipment due to cold. Not sure if I helped but just my two cents....happy motoring
OK, I got 258,735 miles on my '95 2500 V-10, I use Rotella T 15w-40 oil, 2 seconds after I turn the key, it is running. The only thing I'm noticing now is it takes a few minutes for the power steering pump to warm up so I can steer!! On another thought, has anyone thought of useing the viper coil pacs to get more power out of a truck v-10??? Since mine dosen't have the under dash hook-up for a power chip tuner, what else is there to do to get more power, milage ect..??? Ya'll got any thoughts?? :-)
You're not gonna like the big loss of horsepower on propane!
The best way to get better than 10 mpg? Keep your foot out of it. Lol Assuming you have a 5 speed stick shift, stay in the highest gear you can and on the highway, stay under 2000 RPMs. If you have an automatic, you're screwed for gas milege.
