used it in both my previous mustangs, just got my first oil change in the truck, probably will make the change to synthetic within the next 2 or 3 oil changes. used mobil 1 in the mustangs.

My Shelby Z's, R/T and now my SRT-4 have all gotten Mobil 1 synthetic. My Roadrunner gets Castrol GTX 20W50, because the engine doesn't have enough mileage on it to switch to synthetic yet.

Mobile 1 comes as factory fill in the Dodge Viper and SRT-4, and they advise using it afterwards. IMHO I think Amsoil synthetic has better test results, but it's really a matter of personal choice. They're both good products.

My first oil change today with 2400 miles and went with castrol syntec...............(also the first vehicle I ever used synthetic on.....ever)
There are some test results on the internet of different oils...go to the "Google" search engine and look under synthetic oil if I remember right. They weren't sponsered by any oil company and the results may surprise you... the syns beat the dino oils hands down and the top 2 were Amsoil and Mobile 1. As a general rule, ANY syn that is API certified and meets your owner's manual specs is better than dino oil. Just make sure it's 100% synthetic and not a blend.

Theres no comparison between conventional and synthetic oils, synthetics win hands down in every way..........except price.[sm=smiley36.gif]

I got hooked on synthetics about 20 years ago when I started using them in my off-shore boat engines, and I have used them in everything since! I get 600 hrs on big block Chevy's that were only going 250-300 with dino oil! At $10000. per pair, per rebuild that makes a big difference!!![sm=smiley32.gif]
I didn't go the "dealer" route (at least not yet), but opted for the "preferred customer"...saves some $$ considering I'll be using 20+ quarts a year, not counting their other products.[&:]
