Default intake/ptb problem.

i recently bought a used aem short ram intake. i installed it today- took it for a test drive. and when i hit 2700rpm- the turbo sounds like a water sprinkler. now just when it hits 3k it stops like nothing happend. the boost gauge moves from 15psi-14psi really fast back and forth. btw/ i have a mopar conversion plate/ s2 wga/ s1 computor/ and the intake. my peak boost is maybe 16 going down to 14-15. i need help. i tried srtforums- but nothing. anything would be great.

it's ptb. not sure what help you want. turn the boost down and get a mbc, that's about all you can do.

it's not the intake. you have a few things here....

1. your rice plate might be leaking
2. you have a boost leak. see above. also do a boost leak test.
3. lower the boost and add a mbc to control ptb.

yep ptb. It was probably always like that but with the short ram intake you can hear it better. all or none and try to stay out of the problem area.

well how do i fix the problem? i would like to drive normally- i would think i should be able to drive the car regular. im not running over stock boost. and the boost gauge was not flopping between 14-15 before i put the intake on.

There isn't a way to get rid of ptb completely, or at least none I know of. Some change or adjusttheir wga, some change their boost levels.... All you can do is minimize it. If you want to drive normally, return the car to stock. You can put the old intake back on if you are firm in believeing the new one has something to do with it and see what happens. Most people I know just learn to drive the car differently, i.e. staying out of the 'zones' when it happens....
