1/4 Mile Track Times
I went to the track for the first time and ran three times. 14.8 first run....i was kinda nervous and burned out baddddd. second run 14.19 getting th feel of it. third and last time 14.02. i got a k&n cai and a mopar bov. how about yall i was just wondering how good that was. if you want post your time if you dont its ok i understand. its a 2004 also. i have a bunch of vinal on my car and a local "ricer"(no offence just playing , iused to have a honda) said that the vinals gave me about 30 more horsepower.hahahah, just playing i think he was just mad that my "neon" (thats what he refered to my car as, whatever) was better than his. thanks all the srt-4 lovers out there.
what was your 60'? you should be able to do a little better than that, and i'm willing to bet your 60' is the culprit. the local stock 04's around here run 13.7-13.9 usually with 2.0-2.1 60's. but that's a great improvement over your runs, and for your first time out you did very well!
i ran a 13.86 in my 03 back in the day....

at thetrack it was cool and a little foggy so the announcer said that some of the sensers were not working properly. but i do have my slip and it only has the launchwhich was not very good .441 i think and my 1/4 mile time.
nice looking car! i like the viper head on the back, very original.....
the .441 is your reaction time, which doesn't effect your 1/4 mile time at all. that is a very common misconception that people have. take a look at your 60', i'm going to guess it was probably a 2.3 or so on that 14.0 run. if you can get that down to a 2.1 you should have that 13.7 no problem! your 60' is very important as it's a gauge of how well you were able to launch the car.

are you wot shifting? i just grabbed a random time slip that i had around the computer, and it actually is pretty close to your run. on that slip i had a 6.154 330' with a horrible 2.39 60' and i ran a 13.8@103. i remember that track day, it wa in october. it was my first time out on drag radials and i was having a hell of a time on them. turned out that they weren't broken in properly and were just getting slick when i did a burn out rather than sticky, so it actually wasn't even my fault that i was running so bad. anyway, i'm willing to bet that your 60' is what's killing you too. you also should be shifting wot, which judging from your 330 and 1/4 times it looks like you're not. your 330 is good for a high 13 second slip....

no i am not wot and i have the stock tires but i plan to get a set a drag radials and a new wastegate actuator and boost controller. so then i will see what i run then. also is the bf goodrich drag radials good or is there a better one and can you fit them on a set of factory rims .
the bf goodrich's are very good, that's what i have right now. but i would not suggest putting them on the factory rims. a 17" rim does not give enough of a side wall to fully take advantage of the tire. you're better off getting a cheap set of 15" rims and mounting them on there. you can get a set of pt steelies for less than $50 and they work good for dr's. they're a little heavy, but for the money you can't really beat them. a 15x6.5 rim can take a 225/50R15 dr, and you'll see a great improvement with them. the new mt's are very good as well, but you need co's to get them under the car, as well as a wider rim (15x7 at least).
even on the stock tires you can get the 60' down. when i ran street tires i was doing consistant 2.1 60's, and some people do 2.0 60's on the stockers. if you can get your times down to there you'll have a high 13s run no problem. it just takes practice though, this is not the easiest car to launch when you're first attempting it. with practice you'll find the best way for you to launch and then you'll be running much better times. it will also help if you do wot shift as that will also reduce your times.
