Car idling rough since Prothane inserts install?!
Alright guys,
I put the inserts in last night, and enjoy how it has change the response from my engine and lack of wheel hop.... BUT I have notice that my car is idling a little rough since last night, and I am wondering if that is vibration produce from the lack of give in the motor mounts now???
Has anyone else felt this, and if so, is this to be expected?
I dont mind how it is running, I just want to make sure that something is not wrong!
Thanks
Andrew

Yes its to be expected with any type of motor mount modification, except the rex inserts, with which you reall notice no difference. With certain solid mounts its even WORSE. But no nothings wrong with the car, its just stiffer than it was before, causing more vibration. Even something so small as an energy suspension insert or prothane insert can do that to it.
Its all good, no worries

lol yeah.....hopefully there wont be a need for heat anytime soon. (hopes) After this winter I dont want another one for A LONG time. Solid mounts give you that annoying power steering whine too. [:@] Thats why im thinking inserts myself

Solid mounts are worse than inserts when it comes to the noise. But if you don't really want the wheel hop and all the engine movement that goes along with the stock mounts, you probably should consider either one. Especially if you take it to the track and drive it hard.
