I heard Dodgegirl19 tell someone a while back that the SRT-4 has a computer that will not let the engine open up 100% until it's past the break-in point. Imagine what the SRT-4 will be like then!!!![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley16.gif][sm=smiley15.gif]

Yes, you did hear me say (see me type?) that. The engines are 'smart'. DCX knew people would "buy and beat" so they made the computer hold back, gradually allowing more power after the engine is broken in. So when you think you car got quicker... it probably did. LOL!

Just wait till the parts in the engine all set-in, ya get past your first oil change or two, and your computer says "Go for it!" Just keep an eye peeled for the cops. I had one come out of NOWHERE yesterday and she was on my tail in a second. What's even worse is that I work as a police dispatcher and know most of the officers in my area. She finally recognized me and peeled off w/o hitting her lights...[sm=smiley3.gif]

The SRT-4 owner's manual says "Drive moderately during the first 300 miles...." The complete statement is on page 42 of your owner's manual. Personally, I kept it "moderate" until after the first oil change at 750 miles, but have to admit to a couple of bursts of speed during that period.[sm=smiley36.gif]

I don't think it takes very long, because when I got past the 300 mile mark and got into it in third gear it was putting out 13-14 psi boost. I don't think they put out much, if any more, boost than that stock.

Are you considering a S1 or S2 (or other) upgrade?[&:]

Yes. I'm leaning more towards getting Stage 2. I have done some reading up and it would appear that unless your going for more than 350 horsepower, the Mopar Performance 2.5" exhaust is just as good as the 3" exhaust systems out there and it's $400-$500 cheaper as well.[sm=smiley20.gif]
