Yeah the misfire is rwd but it is not domestic and it is very expensive being mostly Mercedes. Cars like that are cool but being very expensive and totally impracticle and not all that fast, I don't know who they are trying to sell them to. I don't really like the car. I think what DR is looking for is a Dodge version of the Supercharged Pontiac Gran Prix. My sis has one of those. They're nice. Very smooth and decievingly fast. Not as quick as my Neon, but quick by any normal car standard. Of course if Dodge did build one, I'd had better be faster than the Ponty.
Nothing is domestic anymore. The Stratus is a Mitsubishi Eclipse. They are pretty cool looking, but I believe they will stop being built next year. The charger is the only car left that is close to the Stratus. For some reason 2 doors are leaving us.

Yeah..it's becoming a trend. They dumped the neon coupe 2 door, dumping the 2 door stratus, the Charger (originally a 2 door) is 4 doors now. I mean don't get me wrong 4 doors are cool be jezus when you think of 4 doors it kind of brings to mind the thought of a family sedan not American muscle or a sports car.

It's too bad Chrysler doesn't offer a V-8 2 door musclecar, available with a manual tranny for around 30K, it would have saved me from buying a GM (Holden) product, that's really against my religion !!!

I got to thinking about my previous post about the Road Runner and a better analogy would have been the 340 Duster. Now that's a car people loved to hate. I remember a magazine article a while back where they took a 275hp stock 340 4 speed Duster, put headers and slicks on it and ran 13.23. I personally, like the Duster but am not a small block fan. You can't argue with the 13.23 time though and the 340 deserves it's props.

Coyote; I realize almost nothing is domestic anymore but I was under the impression the Stratus was, at least mostly. I know the Sebring/Avenger is Mitsu and I know the Stratus WAS domestic, It may not be now as things change every year. But seeing as how Chrysler is owned by Daimler, isn't this all like picking pepper from the fly poop? Sure, the more homegrown the better I guess.

Now about the 2 door thing. I don't understand the logic for not building them. GM said the Firebird/Camaro sales were steadily declining so they dropped them. I don't know, but when I look around, I sure see a lot of them, ...still. Chrysler introduces a car like the Prowler or the Misfire and hopes to sell a few thousand of them and GM on a bad day sells 10 or 20 times that in Camaros. What's the logic here? And now look at the Mustang, they're everywhere. Sure seems like like there's a market for something like them.

On another note; Did any of you see the Charger show car of about '99? It was a 4 door but it was friggin awesome. They styling overall was much better than the Charger we ended up with and they did a much better job of hiding the rear doors. I saw it a the big Harley Laughlin River Run out in Nevada. I had sworn off ever buying a new car again untill I saw that car. It really made an impression.
