Mopar Performance/Borla Exhaust On It's Way
I called Modern Performance yesterday to see if they finally got in more Mopar/Borla exhausts, so I could order me one. Luckily enough the had them and I got mine ordered, it should be here by monday(if I'm real lucky, maybe I could get it on saturday so I could get it on that day). Now just about all I need is Stage 2 with toys.[sm=smiley2.gif][sm=smiley4.gif]
It will be nice to get rid of those twisty pipes and open it up another .25" to help the exaust flow! Good luck.
Has anyone done any dyno testing on the different size exaust systems (2.25"-2.5"-3.0") and which would be best with different mods? As you know, with exaust bigger isn't always better. A 3" exaust might not have enough back pressure for a lightly modded engine. The MP/Borla at 2.5" might be the optimum size right up to Stage 3.
I made a lot of mistakes when modding my Jeep only because I didn't do enough research. I won't make the same mistake twice.
Please keep us updated when you get it in.
BTW...I used to be T-Bone. Now that I'm an SRT-4 owner, I figured I'de try a name change.

A turbocharger is it's own backpressure. The 2.5" Mopar/Borla is just as good as the 3" exhausts up into the 300-350 horsepower range, but then the 3" exhausts show their advantage when you get above these horsepower levels. The Mopar/Borla exhaust is designed to work perfectly with Stage 3 which is 300 horsepower and 300 torque. If you plan on getting over 350 horsepower, go with the 3", but if your staying under 350 horsepower, stick with the 2.5".
[sm=smiley29.gif] It's time for me to stop thinking along the lines of "naturally aspirated" cars. Thanks, 71RR.
*note to self: no exaust backpressure needed anymore.

see http://www.dodge-srt4.com/profile/index.html for rezin8's 357 HP on the stock exhaust.
Congrats on the Borla, RR!!!! I've been happy with mine from the minute it was installed...the sound is louder, deeper and there is a noticeable improvement in the bottom end, plus it looks meaner from the rear. Putting on my front STB tomorrow and hopefully the Stage 1 will be in next week....[sm=smiley20.gif]

How is Rezin8 at 357 HP with the stage 2 and stock turbo and exhaust? There has to be something else right? Or Stage 3 with the better turbo and bigger fuel pump would be knocking on the door of 400 HP wouldn't it? What am I missing?
Note where the weblink is to....Rezin 8 has done some pretty clever things with his SRT-4, including the $20 oil catch can which he published on his forum first, or close to it....
Note the below, quoted from his site. I'm not sure, but there was something Greg did on the dyno to eff with the folks, ask him to be sure.

Here's a thread that discusses the whole Rezin dyno thing in great detail.
