I plan to do that, not sure what type of oil is currently in her abdomen but I read the many recommendations on this site about the use of Mobile 1 versus dino oil. Its such a hastle to get to the dealer and waste an hour waitting for something that should take 15 min. Idealy I would just like to do it myslef but alas incase that thier routeen includes the check on other parts of the vehicle I feel compelled to have them do it.
I have not taken the initiative to read the manual on the car (sacrilige I know) and I still fumble with sterio trying to get it to switch from CD to the other, however I presume its a 4 quart engine? lol! and do they add 1/2 for the oil/filter change?

Regards,

Napoli

If you have the same coupon thing I do, 12 months/15,000 free oil changes, they probably will just put it on the oil rack and "maybe" look at the parts listed on the coupon like they do mine. Since nothing is wrong with my SRT-4, I haven't pressed the issue. Some of those oil change folks can do more damage than good.

If you bought your SRT-4 new, you should have Mobil 1 inside from the factory. I've used it and am also going to put Amsoil in next time to compare the two.

It's a flat 5.0 quarts for each oil change, filter included.

They cannot do anything about your mods and they cannot void your warranty for them either. If they claim it voids your warranty, then ask them if they've ever heard of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act: US Code- Title 15, Chapter 50, Section 2301-2312. Or you can ask to see the Mopar Performance Street Essentials catalog and then point out page 4 paragraph 3 where it specifically states that NO aftermarket/added performance parts can, by itself, void the vehicles warranty unless they can prove that the aftermarket/added performance part(s) was the cause of the failure/problem. Here is a direct link to the pdf of that catalog, read it for yourself: http://www.mopar.com/StreetCatalog.pdf

Thanks RR,
Sounds like this has been covered before. Actualy they should not say anything as they should be somewhat embarised that Mopar didnt cover the issue of oil going back into the head.

I've talked to other tubo owners (non-Mopar) and several of them said they had the same problem with blowing oil.....[&:]

I guess that's why Greddy makes a "universal" OCC....

Actualy as you know most of the 1/4m race cars have that on them too. I had done that to both my challangers but I hooked the line past the headers and into the collector so there is no opertunity for the oil to be sucked back into the heads.
So now my next mod is the suspension although the car handles fine normaly I would like it become a little stiffer. I am going to try get a set of front and rear bars in the next couple of weeks. Not sure if I need to mess with the shocks as they seem fine.

I already had the front strut tower brace on and now I have received my rear one yesterday, so I'll have to put it on today. It does make a difference in the handling, so I definately recommend it. If I could afford it I would get the Mopar Stage 3 coil overs.[sm=smiley2.gif]

What do the Stage III coil over's do in preference over the stock? will it make the car take of better or worse?. Logicaly dont you need some dampening to allow the front to hunker down rather than rais for take -off? i.e. I used old shocks on the front of my 73 cuda when I used to race so that the front lift would throw weight onto the rear for better traction. I am not sure how this works on a FWD vehicle... I do see the benefits of the tower braces though for cornering. Here in Houston most of our roads where built by the Romans (straight w

Here in San Antonio, our roads were made by drunken cowboys riding backwards on horses full of locoweed!!![sm=smiley36.gif]

In Houston can say the road to success is always ….under construction!.
The cars here have defiantly outgrown the roads they run on, best of all is the way that some counties manage their road maintenance funds in lieu of fixing the road they just place a sign that says “Bad road aheadâ€â€¦
I travel the infamous highway 59 every morning and afternoon and it has to be said that is an ongoing work of art never ending in its saga… I am grateful though it could be L.A.

Napoli.
