great list doof...there are actually cars on that list slower than my lowly 6 cyl auto stratus..

if it "doesnt take much" to put them in the 12s, why are so many at the 2 tracks at which i run slower than my mirada?? i mean, there are a few guys running low 12s/high 11s, but theyre all blown, inculding the new cobras. if i bolted a paxtonor kenne bell underhood to my 340, id be running a hell of alot better than low 12s...

every mustang owner in the world thinks theyre POS 5.0 is the end-all of performance cars when in reality, mustangs are just faster hondas...everyone buys one to stand out...but then they dont stand out because everyone has one...

Yeah, but you have to appreciate the amount of aftermarket stuff they have for them. It's like someone already posted, it doesn't take much to put them in the 12's. What you can do to the SRT-4 can be done to Mustang with twice the displacement and you have a wider selection of gearing and suspension parts. Of course it is a FORD [:'(].

but like i said...if its "so easy" then why are there SO MANY 13-15 second stangs with short throws, and exhaust...CAIs...

You just answered your own question. Because all they are doing is the CAI, short throws. You know, the easy install ricer type mods. Now if you want to take the Mustang and throw at it, ported heads, 4.10 gears, improved intake, no accessory drives, headers, ignition, rims and tires, etc., It's going to run. Now, if you want to turbocharge the thing, hold on. They have varying performance possibilities with that design.

ok...on that note...take a civic SI...put a ported performance head, better plenum, remove all drives belting, a header so on, its also going to run....

that list you made would cost at least a couple grand...and youre also talking major internal engine work...the rustang owners who even knwo where to go to GET that done are very few, and very far between...

there is a guy at PRP with a very plain looking late 80s/early 90s LX with a 5.0. 373 gears, trick flow intake plenum and heads, cam work electric fans, AL pulleys, no AC so on...through 3 inch pipes runs 12.80s...im not impressed...
