I have been gone to Galveston for 2 days, so I am answering a few backed questions...
That list of older model mustangs is all I have... I try to keep an updated list of all performance cars, but I have lost out on alot of the fords...

I don't necicerrily bad mouth the mustangs, but most fords need some minor engine work and major exhaust work to run well. The lightning and the cobra are proof that they will run very good, but it takes alot of work to make them do that. A ford is the most expensive race car to build and make go fast, but there are probably more parts for a mustang than nearly any other car...

So the SRT could beat any stock MUSTANG, not (COBRA) in a straight up race?

 

in theory... with some exceptions... let's not forget that Mach 1's, SVO's, etc. etc. are "stock" Ford built Mustangs that could beat an SRT in stock trim...

stock vs. stock would be a good race with the SRT winning (*assumption*) all things equal (driver, road conditions, stock cars, etc.)... it would be a good close race though

 

I'm a frod hater myself.. for two reasons. 1: MY father worked in a ford factory early in his life and I have heard some of the stories of the **** they pushed out. 2: I inspect seat for ford, their seats are ****. period. I'f I can't fit my fist in a hole thats in it, it will go through, be trimmed and put in a car, and I don't like that.
But that doesn't mean their all bad, I just don't like the company as a whole. But anyway onto the story. I was at a redlight the other day coming back from playing basketball at the park I believe, a 90's or so "5.0" Mustang pulls up beside me I look over at it, and kind of mentally sigh knowing he is going to rev on me, but he doesn't! Anyway we pull out, and I hear.. psssh.. as he shifts, which was suprising.. we stop at the next light, moving at a rather slow pace between them.. I wanted to hear that again.. so I rev'd and gave the old BOV salute.. he smiles, revs and the loudest PSSSSHSHSSHSHTTTT.. I;ve heard in my life echos out from under his hood. So I just have to yell over at him.. "That sound nice to be a mustang.." He just kinda laughs.."Ya I've done alot of work to it.." He pulls out slowly at first, I hear him shift and then he's a dot in the distance. I was impressed, and sort of sad that I didn't get to try and give him a run, although at the pace he was rolling away, I doubt I had a chance of keeping his tails eye sight. Moral of the story: Some mustangs, although 90% are POS cars... can eat some ***.

 

I raced a newer GT the other day. After i pulled away from the stop sign i never saw the side of the car again.
