Track time on friday....
Oh, the other thing that was driving me crazy was all the people who broke their car. So they would have to stop and clean up the mess and tow the car aside. It was getting really old. Oh well, I guess thats what happens when you get that kind of power, stuff breaks really easy.[sm=smiley5.gif]
The weather did you in, I know my SRT-4 usually gets 12-13 psi boost when it's wet and/or humid and it gets 14-15 psi boost when it's dry and nice. Sorry to hear that you were screwed all around. Remember that your stock sissy clutch will start to slip after only a few mods and the more you do to it the more it will slip, at least that's the way the first gens. were. If you can, swap out the cam for one of the Crane cams and see if Indy Cylinder has an intake manifold for yours yet, on the first gen. DOHC's they were good for an unbelieveable 26 WHP gain.
well...mine started off poorly as well...they call it street wars...so i had to fashion some plates, and state saafety sticker for my car, and put the full exhaust up on. they gave me a hard time in tech because they know im usually not street legalish..but that was over with quickly...
but on the wy there, we hit traffic, and the drive that usually takes about 55 minutes in the motor home with the car on the trailer, took us 2,5 hours. we got there late, but they had problems with the lgihts, so they started an hour and a half late.
first run out...13.05...yuck...against a firebird auto that ran 15.10
next run was agaisnt an auto civic...i ran 12.89, he ran a balmy 17.00
first round of elims...dialed 12.85 (i usually run 12.72-75s) i ran 12.88 with an awful reaction time...and lost to a 69 nova who ran a 12.94 on a 12.90 dial...lost it on the tree...which is unusual for me..
anyway, i moved ot the test and tune lanes, and ran again...12.81..
came back in, pulled the alternator belt off, put fresh ice in the cool can,and took the exhaust completely off the car...an the last run, cool air, but humid...
12.68@104.09...the best ET the car has ever run.. 1.701 60; time, but it didnt pull the tires off the ground...however, it did spin the tires int he rims..which im afraid will become a problem...
i ran 104.99 at tristate, but that was on a 12.71 run.

Yah, traffic was a pain for me too, so I ended up getting there late as well, then I found out it went 2 hours less.[:@][:@] But it must of been the weather, all my friends cars were significantly slower than they usually are. So I guess it was not just me.
Something else you can try that might help you out it is disconnecting the battery at the track. Reconnect it right before the run, this will reset the PCM which will make it compensate for the crappy weather and it will allow a little more fuel and spark timing as it relearns.[sm=smiley20.gif]
I'm blaming the weather, all 4 of us, me and the cougar, and the 2 WRX's were probably a good .3 seconds or more slower than what we usually do. One of my runs I did everything right and still didn't do what I normally do. The only thing I didn't do on that run was pull a good 60ft time. I had a 2.3 60ft, but I'm blaming that on my tires because I had some nasty wheel spin. After that I got off the line I couldn't of done anything better than I did. That happened to be the run I spanked the brand new Cavy (well I shouldn't say spanked, because he was right there with me, maybe edged the cavy is a better word).
