Lol I gotcha... What do they call it and just my local Auto store here?
I am sure there is a technical term for it, but, for the life of me, I can't recall what it is..... Parts store *might* have it.... or be able to order it....
Ok you think you could link me a pic of it on here so I can at least know what I am looking for? You know the guys at the auto stores were working at McDonalds yesterday so they surely won't know!!!!!
As someone whos installed my own remote start/alarm, is in computer engineering, and has a good bit of circuit work. Those wires look like they got too hot and melted from the inside out, which of course could be from a short as you noted, but I'm wondering if whomever installed that didn't put the proper fusing/relays where they need to be (aside from properly shielding the wires from one another) that would've prevented things like shorting/too high current draw in hot wires.. When you look at it next, pay extra attention to every single detail, also be careful if you unplug the battery, as there are always live 12V wires under the dash.
Ok sorry for the delay I got tied up with some things at work but I traced the burned wires to a lug in the center of the dash between the air duct and front of the dash PITA to get to (pictured). So I replace the burned up wires all together and put everything back together only to have none of the gauges work!!!! Uggghhh. The lights come on and the speedometer is all the way to right (pictured). Any ideas now?

Still have a problem somewhere. Likely when the wire got hot enough to melt the insulation, it also compromised other wires. You also have the big question: WHY did it melt in the first place?
Oh I know why it melted because my dumb a#* hooked up the battery cables backwards bc I got a new one and put it in after dark using a street light and the post were opposite from the old battery. I checked and feel like I checked pretty good and the other wires didn't seem to be compromised. My odometer was also working fine and the gauges were just jumping around not all together dead. Before I fixed the ground the idle was also rough and seems to be smoother now.
