Ive got a 94 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2l that I recently picked up randomly it will cut off if I go to stop as soon as I take my foot off the gas. At idle it runs so rich that you can see the unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust. I figured that I would reach out to see if anyone had any ideas. Its giving me the egr/ inbalanced air/fuel code 32. I don't have much experience with obd1 and prior vehicles. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Check the coolant temp sensor. You have two. A one wire, which is for the gauge. And a two wire, which is for the PCM. That's the one you want. It should be next to the thermostat housing, just to the drivers side.
Yeah I ordered on a week or so ago the guy told me the truck randomly would act this way. I had originally replaced the purge solenoid and it fixed it for a little while or so it seemed so I will replace temp sensor today. As far as the iac I'll look into that was well finding a good quality replacement for that seems to be difficult.
