Default Ac leaking water on passenger side floor

So I have a 96 Ram Van 2500 5.2 engine and I took a long trip to Nashville and back over the last week. On the way back I noticed the carpet on the passenger side was wet and a constant drip coming from under the glove box.

Do you know what I should check here is there a AC drain hole that may be plugged or something?

any help is greatly appreciated thanks y’all!

Yep. That is exactly what I would suspect. Now, where is it? That is a VERY good question. A bright flashlight, and possibly a mirror will make searching it out easier. (from under the hood.)

It's easier to find if you first run the AC for a bit until it starts dripping, then you can follow the water trail.

Thanks for the details here. I dug around behind the AC Unit but there is not any space there really to see if there is a drain tube or not. Im thinking of taking the Doghouse off today and seeing if I can look behind it any better that way.

I ran the AC for about 10 minutes yesterday and didnt see any dripping yet so maybe need to run it for 30 min or so to start seeing it. Thanks!

The drain *might* be visible from under the hood, or even from under the van on the passenger side there.

I found this but it’s towards the front of the vehicle right above the blower motor which may be a weird spot for a drain... does this look like it?

Drain will be at the lowest point of the heater box, VERY near where the evaporator core is. That would be a REALLY bad place for a drain....... (unless you own stock in the company that makes the blower motors......)

Yeah I did some searching around and couldnt find it still. I was reading this article https://www.autozone.com/repairguide...96b43f802e3104 and they mention under Step 10 a drain tube so it looks like it is behind the ac housing back there where I have to remove it to see the drain lines...

So after some further investigation it looks like the photo i posted is of the drain tube. So it is on the front lowest point of the AC Box. It drains just behind the AC blower motor which seems like a bad spot. But anyway after a 40 minute drive this weekend I stopped the van and looked unneather and sure enough water was dripping right out of that location. Needless to say it looks like the issue is fixed.

nice, what did you do to fix it? Blow compressed air into the tube?
