Once the stock chassis was out of the way, the OP moved the four-wheel-drive chassis under the body of his truck and went through the painstaking process of lining up the mounts. Once that was done, he added the upgraded suspension components from his stock chassis along with reconnecting all of the lines and wires needed to make the Ram 1500 function.
Once everything under the truck was hooked up and the suspension components were bolted into place, the OP just had to move the bed from the stock chassis to the four-wheel-drive unit, completing the conversion from rear-drive to four-wheel-drive.
As you can see in the original thread, the project isn’t all that difficult, but the OP’s circumstances make the swap a whole lot more complicated.
However, in the end, the owner of this 1997 Ram 1500 ended up with a truck that doesn’t just look the part of an off-road-ready Dodge pickup.
