I did an engine flush and oil change today. I used just a little over half a quart of the quick flush. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I just used conventional oil as I plan on doing another change far sooner than 3,000Mi. I will be flushing it between changes for the next 3 or so. The next change will be a synthetic and then do another early change and replace that with amzoil. Should be much cleaner.

Next things I need to do are:

differential oil change.

replace the gaskets to my valve covers as they are leaking. I'm wondering if I can just use RTV gasket maker for this?

Another transmission oil change.

Tune up

Replaced my Power Booster and Master Cylinder.
Didnt need a universal joint to do the brake booster bolts, I just used a 2 foot long extension.

After replacing the Brake booster and Master Cylinder yesterday, I realized this morning my brake lights would stay on all the time. I had popped the stop lamp switch loose.
While reseating it I noticed it was squeaky, so I replaced it, a worse job than the brake booster.
This now has an even $3k invested and I will no longer put any money into it.
I am now the future proud owner of a 2008 Dakota SLT Quad cab 4.7 v8 4x4 which is only costing $14000

Well... I hope you're not planning on selling your 1st gen cuz you def wont get your money back especially in this economy. people are practically giving away v8 trucks. I'm glad my Daks a v6.

Replaced the o-rings on injectors 1,3,5,7 due to fuel leaking, and now i don't have fuel leaking on top of the motor.
Then fixed my trailer plug, only then to realize that it was wired up wrong by the former owner.

yep, you should have seen what mine looked like! I don't need a trailer plug so I removed all of it, now I just need to rewire the tail lights correctly.

I WAS going to go Offroading with a friend today. But he said he couldn't make it.

So I decided i would change my plenum intake gasket. I've been getting a hesitation on cold starts. My last guess was a vacuum leak from the gasket. After buying all the parts, I got started.

Thank God I got a replacement bypass hose for the intake. My old one was soooo soft. I put on pliers to get it off and riped it easily. The new plenum gasket has built-in silicone spots to help prevent leakage.

I wanted to wait to buy the Hughes plenum fix plate. But since I had time I went for it. If anyone wanted to know you can buy them from Hughes For $82.

The other thing I did today was mess with my horn. It stooped working a few days ago. After tarring panels off and all, I found out the steering column wasn't grounded securely. So I added in another grounding point. Now I got my horn back!
