i don't usually involve myself in forum drama, especially in a forum i'm new in, but Toby, your comments just stood out to me as so completely idiotic that I just have to throw my two cents in.
Do you have some kind of a personality disorder or something that makes you completely numb to the fact that everyone now sees you as an idiot?? Because i'm sure your ego compels you to believe that we're challenging your knowledge about dakotas, but that's just not true. Me, and im sure the others in this forum, are instead awestruck at your complete lack of social ability in explaining your knowledge. You could be completely right about something and i'd still struggle to take you seriously because you come off as such a complete ***.
Are you being that way on purpose or is that just how you are? If it's the latter, you must lead a pretty depressing life.

So to get back on topic because the who has the bigger d*** needs to stop. If the truck has the factory springs and ubolts, there is a small 2.5 by 4 peace of steel the bolts will sit on. They will wear down so a semi round would be best to use. If you replace it then a square would be a better choice.

Wow, well to actually get back on topic would be to answer what the OP posted. With copy and paste, here it is.
This came off my 96 Dakota 4x4 and just wondering would online they consider this square or semi round. Compared to the companies pictures you could view it either way it seems. Also these are not the same width all the way down I would assume from torque and overload in the past deforming them and my new leaf packs are 2 1/2 width. So that means I should have 2 1/2 u bolts correct? Oriellys has some that are actually 2 5/8
Clearly, by looking at diagrams from 2 other companys, and pictures of a actual U-Bolt purchased, which was advertised as semi-round,
The Correct answer to the OP post is semi-round.
He didnt ask what anyone thought was better, he only ask is this bolt (in the picture) square or semi-round.
