Heh. Meant dome LIGHT ...

I bought a pair of Toyota Tacoma auto dim mirrors; put one in the Cougar to replace the failing one there, and the other one in the Dakota.

While running that line, consider some good double-sided outdoor grade sticky tape, and putting one of these into that line: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IY4QFXE/

That's the one I bought to put in the Dakota and another one I'll be mounting into the console of the Cougar.

I did find some higher current ones ... https://www.banggood.com/3pcs-DC-Buc...r_warehouse=CN .

Why there? Well, that's where my dashcam and my GPS get their power from - take a 2' long USB/whatever cord, wrap it once or twice around the mirror in case the unit falls off, and presto! No cables dangling down.

(I also ran a ... 12' IIRC, but might have been longer ... 3.5MM/3.5MM TRS cable, which feeds a 15W/15W amp that drives two 3.5" speakers on a 4x10 mounting plate in the bottom half dash; I can now hear my GPS!)

That's a good idea if you've already got the switched line going up.

I used some outdoor grade 3M Double sided sticky tape; it holds up just fine.

I used the switched 12V line to the radio; soldered a drop off of that (and another run to over the glove box for some USB and an accessory device there ... ) and presto, nice audio for GPS, nice power for GPS, power for dashcam, power for autodim mirror. All up and hidden in the groove in the front cross brace.

Let me see if I can find that pic ...

I HIGHLY recommend that even if you don't run GPS or dashcam right now.

I did my headliner and the underlying foam was in good shape the cloth had just pulled away from it in spots. So when I put on the new cloth I just sprayed over the old foam instead of scraping it. It seems fine. The PIA was getting the visor mount back on, I nearly broke the board. I didn't think of it but it only sits one way, keep that in mind if you are doing it alone. A magnetic screw driver would also be a treat.
