Actually I don't think I paid that much for two 5-packs.
But that lets you know what the nut is.
Before pulling, I plan to hose it down with PBlaster or Kroil several times the week before.

Hmmmm, captivated nuts. I'm thinking a ratchet would be the way to go. An air impact might be too rough?? Are they accessible from the exterior or interior of the cab? I'm looking at the FSM and it's not clear. Guessing from the exterior and you'd have to curl your hand inside those holddown brackets..at least on some of them (the two front-most perhaps). No idea on the rear-most. Looks like it disappears to the interior. Maybe got to rip out rear seats (I have the extended cab). Geez, you've never changed yours and I'm asking you something you never did. Sorry.
Also, what section would those body mount components be in the parts catalog. I looked at several sections I thought it would be in but still can't find it. Any suggestions?
The NUTS aren't accessible without cutting an access hole, from what I visualize and previous experience on other vehicles. (That's deductive, not observational. I could easily be wrong.)
I'm going to use my Great Neck 12V Impact Wrench to get them apart at the boneyard so I can get the sleeves and washers powder coated; mine may use the Hazard Fraught Harbor Freight 115V electric impact wrench.
For our N-body (Dakota) trucks, it's figure 13-510 (my PDF reader claims it's page #417 for a 1994-1996.)
I remembered something last night - while doing the cab mounts, you'll probably need to remove the bolts/screws holding the fan shroud in place and ease it back. May need to remove the radiator hoses too (the radiator will come up with the cab, the engine HOPEFULLY not.)
I think I'll get my face under there later today and see what I can find. Last thing I want to do is take the bolts out and not be able to get them back in without going through a bunch of gymnastics. And fan shrouds and radiators...this job is starting to grow.
So you're going to get extra parts from the boneyard so you don't have to have your truck on the sidelines waiting for powder coating? I once had access to all kinds of powder coating lines. None anymore.
BTW, I still have not seen a photo of your 88. Is it an extended cab (did they have those in 88)? Assuming a V6 LA or A?
No, they didn't have the extended cab. It is a long wheel base, with the 8' bed.

This is from a few years back, not during Snowpocalypse 2021 but a previous heavy snow fall in this part of the country.
I've added a camper top to the back since, about five years ago. Also now have some Jeep Wrangler wheels on it, powdercoated a satin black. I have the center caps, need to clean them and paint them, then put my ram's head logo on them.
I'm impressed! Snow crap notwithstanding, it looks like it's in pretty good shape. And considering the mileage there doesn't appear to be any major battle wounds on it. Nice!
They made those LAs for a long time. I could be wrong but for a lot longer than the magnums??

So yeah. A run of 29 years if you count the 273 to the last year 360/3.9 .
But the Magnums are easily considered the next generation; the LA was based on the A, which was based on the original Hemi motors.
And the Viper V10 was based on the Magnum, so there's that for longevity of basic design.
Yah, he's in pretty good shape overall. The BED has suffered over the years; it'll be cheaper to pick up a good bed from the boneyard than to straighten the current bed out. But a work in progress.

I had a 69 Coronet way back. Had the 318. Great engine. The rest of the car....not so much.
My dad had a ketchup red 67 Polara back when I was a mere child. The one with the cat eye tail lights. It was a boat If my memory serves, it had the 426 Hemi in it. Could be wrong. Got about 2.35 MPG. But gas was 28 cents/gal so no one cared.
Well, I got my face into those cab mounts. Of course, I have three on each side. I could not see the nuts on the front or back mounts. They are buried beyond sight. I WAS able to see the nut on the middle mount via inspection mirror. And you're correct, it's a captive nut...what looks like a cage nut to be more precise. And it looks like a fairly robust one at that. The mounting side ears on the cage nut look well secured. I suspect they're not floppers like a lot of captive nuts are. So I feel a little better about that. I assume they use the same cage nuts on the other two I cannot see but it is an assumption. However, if I do break any of those captive nuts it looks like a total adventure trying to get to them. They are buried in the cab fortification ribs.
Also, my cab attaches to the bed via the bracket that also houses the rear body mount. Tells me I'd have to de-bolt the bed too. Then it looks like there might be a couple bolts at the front that would have to come out just in front of the door seam underneath. Had to be fun lining that all up.
I guess I'm not opposed to removing radiator hoses if I had to because they're 19 years old and I've been thinking about changing those out for awhile anyway. I changed them once in 2002 so I think it wouldn't hurt to change them again. I like staying ahead of rad hoses. And probably not too hard to loosen up that fan shroud but truthfully I get a bit lost here. I'm trying to figure out how the fan shroud is impacted by lifting the cab. Help me understand! And why not other stuff in addition to the fan shroud?
I also took the opportunity to closely inspect the rubber on each mount...upper and lower rings. They are remarkably plump, healthy, and pliable still. None of them are flat, smooshed, dry, cracked, out-of-round, or otherwise compromised. I'm wondering if I'm trying to fix something that aint broke.
And on another topic...the rubber tube that protects my emergency brake cable from the leaf spring a 1/2 foot out from the brake drum has worn thru. Both sides. Surprised the cable isn't destroyed, but it's not. I rotated the rubber tube temporarily to get some rubber between the spring and cable. However, I need to get a better fix in there. Thinking of a hunk of garden hose or heater hose split like a wire loom and placed over the entire stock rubber piece. Or maybe just multi-layers of wire loom? Any thoughts here?
With all the cab/front end mounting bolts loose on one side, lifting it will move the radiator/shroud as well, however, the fan, mounted to the engine, won't..... Don't wanna bust the shroud, so, need to pull it out.
