Remember, the fenders and core support are bolted to the CAB. They don't flex when you jack up the cab; they're part of it.

Might as well worry about the doors or windshield flexing ...

As to that crack - don't think it's the creaking and groaning, but nope, that don't look good at all. Time to replace them for sure!

Well, it's going to be just replace-bushings on my Dakota; I went out this morning (had to go to Dallas for a doctor's appointment for my wife) and ... someone had broken into the back of the Dakota and stolen most of my tools.

My socket sets, my drill, grinder, and sander, and a few other items. Oh, and the screwdriver sets.

So my wallet, which is NEVER overly plump - is now going to be starvation lean for a while.

Damn it.

That REALLY sucks! I feel for yuh and I'm sorry this happened to you. You don't deserve this.

Just 1 minute with the thief. Just one minute is all it would take. Less with a firearm.

I take it no cameras where this happened?

Didn't see any; this was in the hotel parking lot.

The handicapped places were full when we got here, so we parked closer to Stemmons than I normally would.

Bah, humbug.

Can't hurt to ask the hotel if they have videotape (or any establishment nearby). Half decent chance they do but you gotta get to them quick because those tapes round robin and they don't have a long history. Possible you could pick off a license plate or something.

DID pick up a new tool box today at Tractor Supply - JobSmart 324 pc. Tool Set, KKV0001 at Tractor Supply Co.

LOOKS good. Case is HEAVY for this fatboi computer geek!

It is currently in the hotel room.

So it looks like it has all the basic 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2” drive ratchets and sockets both SAE and metric? Plus some other stuff?

Yep, a fairly complete set of all three sizes, SAE and metric combo wrenches, SAE and metric "ignition" (i.e., small) combo wrenches, SAE and metric long and short hex screws, and a whole bunch of 1/4 hex drive bits (something like eight #2 Phillips, for instance).

Seems to be a good mix for a starter kit.

Doesn't have my long breaker bar, or my long arm ratchet, but hey, it's a good start.

That would make a decent starter set for someone, I think.

I think I’m gonna try to get those mounts in after I’m done with the wife’s car and I take a little break from fixing these damn automobiles. I’ll just jack it up slowly and try to keep an eye (and ear) on it to see if anything is wacking out. Then just deal with it as it comes up.

I’m guessing it would be best to jack up a rib vs the floor if I have the choice?

These ES mounts are not wimpy. I got the black ones.
